Workout training at home is convenient. You take control of your time, allowing you to accomplish more things because there is no need for you to travel or take a ride to reach the gym.
The first thing to do is, organize your schedule. Take a calendar and set a regular schedule for your home fitness training. It could be any day of the week. Plan to exercise at least three time a week and up to four time for a more aggressive workout.
Your workout routine does not require everyday, although doing so will have faster results, but your muscles need rest and time to grow stronger. Spending 30 minutes of your time for strength training or weigh training each day, three days a week can produce good results.
There are two options for starting your workout training. You can do it without gear, with gear. Training without gear you can use various exercises that build muscle and get you healthy and fit. Like walking, running, jogging, yoga, aerobics, basic exercising or oriental fighting.
To exercise with gear, you can purchase some small weights and inexpensive equipment to get started at home. Learn some of the basic exercises so you can start building muscle.
If you have never tried jogging, it is advisable to start out walking. Do not forget your warm up exercise. Any workout training requires warm up. Breathing in and out for two minutes can set you ready. Learn some stretch exercise before you start your walk.

Swimming is also great home fitness training. It works out your chest, abdomen and arms. If you want to stay indoors, you can do pushups and sit-ups. Crunches are the most common and preferred sit-ups. They are easier on the neck and back.

New research published in the l issue of the American Journal of Health Promotion shows that teens who drink 100 percent fruit juice have more nutritious diets overall compared to non-consumers. According to the findings, adolescents ages 12-18 that drank any amount of 100 percent fruit juice had lower intakes of total dietary fat and saturated fat and higher intakes of key nutrients, including Vitamins C and B6, folate, potassium and iron. Those who drank greater than six ounces of 100 percent juice a day also consumed more whole fruit and fewer added fats and sugars. Milk consumption was not affected by juice intake.  In addition, the study found no association between 100 percent fruit juice consumption and weight status in the nearly 4,000 adolescents examined - even among those who consumed the most juice.  According to the study’s lead researcher, Dr. Theresa Nicklas of the USDA/ARS Children’s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine, encouraging consumption of nutrient-rich foods and beverages such as 100 percent juice is particularly critical during adolescence - a unique period of higher nutrient demands.  One hundred percent juice is a smart choice,Nicklas said. It provides important nutrients that growing teens need and the research consistently shows that drinking fruit juice is not linked to being overweight.  The study reinforces similar findings that Nicklas and colleagues have reported in younger children. Research published in the prestigious Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in 2008 showed that 100 percent juice consumption among children ages 2 to 11 years old was also associated with a more nutritious diet and similarly, was not linked to overweight.  Drinking at least one glass of low sodium vegetable juice daily may help overweight people with metabolic syndrome achieve better weight loss results. A study, conducted at the Baylor College of Medicine and presented at this week’s Experimental Biology Meeting, found that participants who drank at least 8-ounces of low sodium vegetable juice as part of a calorie-controlled DASH diet lost four pounds over 12 weeks, while those who followed the same diet but drank no juice lost one pound. Metabolic syndrome is defined by a cluster of risk factors including excess body fat in the midsection, high blood pressure, high blood sugar and abnormal blood lipids. If left uncontrolled, metabolic syndrome increases risk for chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke or diabetes. An estimated 47 million Americans have some combination of these risk factors and are often overweight or obese as well.

Companies who create beauty products have capitalized on the preoccupation, sometimes even obsession, of many people in preserving their youthfulness and beauty. Many beauty and skin care companies produce an anti-aging line. It seems that the skin care line is not complete without anti-aging creams, lotions and other products that aim to rejuvenate the skin to make you look younger. The focus on being eternally beautiful and youthful can be seen in their ad campaigns targeting baby boomers who wish to “look young and feel young,” as one ad campaign phrases it. I’m sure you’ve seen these ads. Famous Hollywood celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Courtney Cox, Andie MacDowell, and Ellen Degeneres all endorse anti-aging creams, lotions and other products that promise you younger looking skin. Elaborate ad campaigns all claim that these topical anti-aging products can smooth out the appearance of wrinkles and defy the natural skin aging process. While many big beauty companies like Olay, L’Oréal, Shiseido, Givenchy, Lancôme, and Estēe Lauder have all invested in anti-aging product lines that claim, through medical and scientific research, to have a proven age-defying effect when applied regularly. So, what are their scientific claims? And the real question now is, do they really have the anti-aging effects that they claim to have? The science of anti-aging creams and other topical products, as opposed to expensive wrinkle-filling injections, can be explained in a number of ways—depending on the active ingredients they contain. Some involve the use of the ingredient Retinol, which is a vitamin A compound that counteracts the effects of unstable oxygen molecules, also known as free radicals, that tend to cause wrinkles as they destroy skin cells. By eliminating and/or neutralizing these free radicals on a daily basis—that is, as the anti-aging cream is applied to the skin twice each day, as recommended—the development of wrinkles is prevented.

How to choose one that’s right for you

Although I’ve worked in fitness centers for over 30 years, in reality, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on expensive health club or fitness center memberships, or the latest fitness center memberships, or the latest fitness equipment, to increase your level of physical fitness.
On the other hand, many people find it difficult to concentrate; say at home, when there are many other distractions. Also, people sometimes find that making a financial commitment increases their chances of following thru long-term.
Fitness centers are designed, built, and equipped to appeal to a broad range of individuals. After all, member ship sales pay the bills.
However, not all centers operate in the same manner. Many require contracts that are legally binding, and require monthly payments, for the length of the contract. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that scenario, in fact it’s very common. The point is, if you’re going to sign on the dotted line, it’s important, that the health club you’ve chosen is right for you.

Location
People make all kinds of excuses not to work out, with proximity to home or work very high on the list. Research has shown that most people won’t travel more than eight miles or eight minutes to work out. Since an exercise an exercise program requires consistency, a convenient location is a must.

Hours of Operation
If you prefer to exercise at a particular time of day, remember to look closely at the day and hours of operation. Also, visit the club prior to joining at the time of day you’re most likely to attend. Is it crowded then?

Equipment and Amenities
With your personal fitness goals in mind, shop around and compare equipment, locker rooms, classes, etc. How about a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam or sauna? Are these in good working order? Have you any interests there?
There should be a wide array of both cardiovascular and strength equipment, as you’ll want to have the opportunity to change your routine periodically, and use different pieces of equipment. That will help keep you interested and motivated.

Cost
Shopping around allows you to compare what you’re getting, to what you’re paying. Newer clubs with newer equipment, a wide variety of amenities, will probably cost more per month, but you never know, so look around. I like clubs that charge an all-inclusive monthly fee, that allows you use of the entire facility. Usually the only additional charge would be for the personal training or massages, which is true everywhere.

Personnel
How were you treated as you looked around? Did the employees seem attentive to members, helpful and friendly? If you want to learn a new machine or piece of equipment, is someone available to demonstrate? You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable asking for assistance in your own club.
While we’re on the topic of fitness center’s employees, pay special attention to the exercise specialists education, experience, and professional certification. Knowing why to do a particular exercise is just as important as how to perform it. Also, are they C.P.R. certified, and is an Automatic Defibrillator available, in case of emergency?

Membership
Certain fitness centers attract a specific kind of member. Bodybuilders are attracted by lots of free weights, as their main purpose in building large muscles. On the other hand, senior citizens are much more comfortable with selectorized machines, and a good choice of cardiovascular equipment. These clubs will have a totally different feel, as the business adapts to the majority of its members, and the fitness center takes on a personality of its own. Make sure which center you’re most comfortable in, before joining.

Cleanliness
There is a wide variation among fitness centers, as far as cleanliness is concerned. My experience has shown that hospital-based fitness facilities are generally the cleanest, which makes sense. Again, you want to be somewhere, that you’re comfortable and safe, and where the owners take pride in their fitness center.
Again, all health/fitness centers are not created equal. Find the one that fits your wants and needs, attend consistently and look and feel better, as you build on your personal fitness program.
